Here's my tellin' of what the official marker has to say about this place. Prairie Dale Cemetery, out in Hill County. Established in 1877, and designated a Historic Texas Cemetery in 2007.

Now, I'll be honest with you, sometimes the most powerful stories are the ones told in the fewest words. This ground has been here since 1877. People brought their loved ones here, said their goodbyes here, and trusted that this place would hold those memories long after they were gone.

And it has. Held them all the way to 2007, when Prairie Dale Cemetery was recognized as a Historic Texas Cemetery. That's a long time for a piece of ground to keep its promise.

Some stories don't need embellishment. They just need remembering.
